Naturopathic Medicine using Botanical MedicinesBotanical Medicine is a system of medicine that utilizes herbs, in all its forms, to bring balance and health to the individual. Dr. Palomino has been trained to prescribe therapeutic teas, standardized extracts, herbal formulations, herbal capsulations, herbal tinctures, herbal topicals, essential oils, and herbal inhalants. By using herbs to treat clients, instead of dealing with the potentially deleterious side effects of pharmaceutical drugs, we often gain side benefits that improve other aspects of a person’s health. Her education, in Naturopathic Medicine at Bastyr University, includes Western Herbs, Ayurvedic Herbs, and Chinese herbs.

Cranial Sacral Therapy (CST)
CST is a gentle modality of physical medicine that not only aids in re-structuring the bones in the body but also facilitates in removing fascia scar tissue in muscles and organs. The main bones that are treated in CST are the cranium (cranial) and the sacral (sacrum) bone in the pelvic cavity. However, the structures in between, spinal tube, spinal nerves, cerebral spinal fluid, and all of the fascial connections of the skeletal muscles and visceral organs, are also enervated in such a way as to guide the body to heal itself. Fascia (connective tissue) when it is injured creates adhesion's (scar tissue) that prevents it from gliding easily over itself, or makes it difficult for the cerebral spinal fluid to flow properly. CST allows the practitioner to guide these tissues to heal themselves and allow proper movement of all structures to be restored naturally. CST is often combined in massage therapy and naturopathic medicine when utilized by trained, skilled practitioners.

Visceral Manipulation
Visceral manipulation is a deep tissue technique that is both minimal and specific to an organ. Fascia (connective tissue) when it is injured creates adhesions (scar tissue) that prevents it from gliding easily over itself, that can affect the movement of organs in your body. Visceral manipulation restores physiological motion, so anatomically improve the sliding surfaces of your organs. This technique focuses on the improving motility (inherent movement of the organ) and the mobility (three dimensional movements) of your organs (liver, stomach, intestines, kidneys, esophagus, gall bladder, and pancreas) in your body. Organs can develop fixation after drug use, anesthesia, trauma, surgery, an infection, postural habits, and high emotional discharges. Visceral manipulation aids the body to remove the fixations.

Orthomolecular Medicine
Our bodies need minerals, vitamins, and other micro-nutrients to function properly. Why, you might ask? Because all enzymatic processes require co-factors to work; and all co-factors are a mineral, vitamin, or other micro-nutrients. Orthomolecular Medicine focuses on bringing these micro-nutrients into the proper balance to gain optimal physical and neurological performance. All metabolic processes in our bodies are performed by enzymes. Therefore, proper metabolic function is dependent on having all appropriate co-factors in the system to maintain health.
